Golden Gate Park
Golden Gate Park is an oasis in our crowded city.  It has endless outdoor and indoor activities and sights.  Nearby are many wonderful restaurants and bars. This adventure focuses on the eastern end of GGP. Our favorite sights are:   California Academy of Sciences , D e Young Museum , Botanical Gardens , and Strybing Arboretum . A day's adventure can include one or two of these sights.  The Academy of Sciences is an all day adventure.  The De Young Museum has an observatory on the 9th floor with "must see" city views, access is free.  The Morrison Planetarium is a spectacular experience.  After your sight seeing, walk along Ninth street and cross Lincoln Way.  One block up is Irving Street.  Along Ninth and Irving you'll find dense area of terrific restaurants and bars.  Our favorite restaurants are: Park Chow (superior food at reasonable prices, wonderful service, a local favorite), Villa Romano's (terrific Italian and pizza, warm service) and Pasquale's (savory pizza).  Our favorite bars are: Little Shamrock (SF's second oldest bar, local hangout, low prices, mixed crowd), Yancy's (lively younger crowd, friendly service, large area), Mucky Duck (low prices, tolerates smoking)
